International Women’s Day 2026 at Union
At Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, women make the difference. On and off the pitch. In the stands. Behind the scenes. And we are proud of that. 1 in 3 employees within our non-sports department is a woman. 1 in 6 fans in the stadium is a woman. March 8 marks International Women’s Day. That’s why this week, and during our home match against KRC Genk, we are putting the women of the Union family in the spotlight.

Union supports the ‘Heroes of 22 March’ tournament
On Sunday 22 March 2026, we will commemorate the attacks in Zaventem and Brussels, which took place ten years ago. The annual football tournament ‘Heroes of 22 March’, organised by The Airport Community, will be held at the grounds on Eversestraat in Zaventem. You can register via kurt.thomas@telenet.be, and supporters are always welcome! Our foundation Union Inspires will also field a team.

Union organises a visually impaired stand for UCL game against Atalanta
In collaboration with Inter Vlaanderen, the club will organize a visually impaired stand for its Champions League match against Atalanta BC at Lotto Park. Visually impaired fans can request a ticket (€37) by email, and their accompanying person is admitted for free. Kick off is at 21:00.

No Black Friday at Union
This year, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise is strengthening its commitment to more responsible consumption. In line with our sustainable approach, we have decided not to take part in Black Friday in order to limit overconsumption and stay true to our values. Instead, we will support Les Petits Riens by donating a share of the merchandising sales from the week of the 24th of November. Fans will be also able to give a second life to their clothes before the game against Cercle Brugge (22/11) and during the week of the 24th of November.

Union Inspires, Women Inspire: 1 out 6 season ticket holders is a women
1 out of 6 season ticket holders at Union is a woman. And we are proud of that! For International Women's Day 2025, Union will give away 400 official Union match shirts (women's sizes) for free before the match against Standard (from 5.15pm) to female fans who have a ticket for this match or are season ticket holders. Through its social branch Union Inspires, the club will also pass on the deposit from Sunday night's reusable cups to Plan International, an organisation fighting for girls' rights in more than 80 countries.

Union raises €24,000 for 8 Brussels homeless organisations
Thanks to the 'When The Lights Go Off' initiative, which involved selling special blackout kits to support homeless organisations in Brussels, Union can now donate €24,000 to eight different homeless organisations. This action also came about thanks to our Main Partners Lotto and hey!

Union Cup nominated as ‘UEFA Best Grassroots initiative by a professional club’
Big news: Union Inspires' Union Cup has been nominated for a prestigious award from European Football Association UEFA. The ‘Best Grassroots initiative by a professional club’ award annually rewards a local social project that unites people around football. The winner will be announced in spring 2025.
