Union Inspires, Women Inspire: 1 out 6 season ticket holders is a women
1 out of 6 season ticket holders at Union is a woman. And we are proud of that! For International Women's Day 2025, Union will give away 400 official Union match shirts (women's sizes) for free before the match against Standard (from 5.15pm) to female fans who have a ticket for this match or are season ticket holders. Through its social branch Union Inspires, the club will also pass on the deposit from Sunday night's reusable cups to Plan International, an organisation fighting for girls' rights in more than 80 countries.

Union raises €24,000 for 8 Brussels homeless organisations
Thanks to the 'When The Lights Go Off' initiative, which involved selling special blackout kits to support homeless organisations in Brussels, Union can now donate €24,000 to eight different homeless organisations. This action also came about thanks to our Main Partners Lotto and hey!

Union Cup nominated as ‘UEFA Best Grassroots initiative by a professional club’
Big news: Union Inspires' Union Cup has been nominated for a prestigious award from European Football Association UEFA. The ‘Best Grassroots initiative by a professional club’ award annually rewards a local social project that unites people around football. The winner will be announced in spring 2025.

The stock of 1.000 black shirts is almost sold out. Only about 50 sizes for children remain. A next phase of our action ‘When the lights go off’ is about to start, for which we call on Brussels organisations that shelter and help homeless people to contact us.

Union team doctor and massage therapist cycle 500 km for charity
Our team doctor Koen Pansaers and massage therapist Yves Cossemyns will take on the challenge of cycling 500 km in 24 hours for the benefit of VZW Bindkracht. They will be sponsored for this trip and all funds raised will go directly to the organisation.

Auction of blue matchshirts
From Anfield to Istanbul, the Unionists have once again managed to create unforgettable moments during our European adventure. The signed match-prepared blue shirts, which were central to this campaign in both the Europa League and Conference League, are available via an auction at shop.rusg.brussels. Proceeds from this auction will go directly to our community foundation Union Inspires.

Union players support Jette children's hospital and L'Ilot homeless centre
Last week, the players took the time to visit 'De Appeltuin' at the UZ Jette children's hospital and the L'Ilot homeless centre in Saint-Gilles. The initiative came from the players and sporting staff. Whilst being there, the players handed out gifts and wanted to raise awareness for both projects.

Union flies with sustainable fuel from Brussels Airlines
Brussels, 28 November 2023 - Union Saint-Gilloise and Brussels Airlines agree to purchase Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for all of the football club's international travel from now on. SAF is a more sustainable fuel that can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 80 per cent*. From now on, 100 per cent of SAF will be purchased for all of Union's international travel. Union is the first European football club to sign such an agreement.
