Union gets 'Ecodynamic Enterprise' label from Bruxelles Environnement

The label values and recognises best practices in environmental impact management, particularly in terms of waste management and reduction, energy use and energy efficiency, mobility, etc.

Over the last year, Union has documented its practices in the fields covered by the label (mobility, sustainable procurement, water, energy, noise, green spaces, waste, and governance) and constituted its application for the label. Union’s application was verified, with both its documentation as well as the Stade Marien audited during a site visit in October.

Having recently returned to the highest level of Belgian football, Union Saint-Gilloise aims at being a leader off the pitch as well and has placed sustainability at the heart of the club's development.

As an actor in the Brussels community and an organization in a sector in which environmental and societal issues are not always prioritized, Union is convinced that it has a strong role to play in promoting environmental responsibility in the world of sport.

Since 2020, the club has been working on its sustainability strategy, Union Inspires. Obtaining the Ecodynamic Enterprise label is important for Union Saint-Gilloise because this label is a recognition of the good practices that have been put in place as part of Union Inspires. The label also allows the Union to define an action plan for improving its environmental initiatives in the months and years to come.
