What is Union Inspires?
For several seasons, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise has been committed to various actions and causes, whether at the local level or in relation to our employees, both socially and environmentally, in order to take care of the environment in the best way possible and to give future generations the chance for a healthier life.
‘In a city like Brussels, you can never do enough community work. We have to keep investing in the social cell and keep growing in that area as well. We are very proud that we can mean something for our city and far beyond,' CEO Philippe Bormans explained.
We are very proud that we can mean something for our city and far beyond
Union Inspires is the supporting hand of the club next to the pitch, dedicated to looking beyond its walls and initiating projects that aim to positively impact our communities, our city, our country, and our planet. Union Inspires is divided into two parts: on the one hand, we have our social projects focused on the communities of Forest and Saint-Gilles; on the other hand, we have our environmental projects, where we strive to ensure that Union does everything within our capacity to protect the planet.
Vision
We realise that a football club is an essential part of the community in which it is located. Union Inspires ensures that the Royale Union Saint-Gilloise wins both on and off the pitch. With our actions and projects, we want to have a positive impact on the local communities in Brussels, and our planet.
Mission
Diversity
As a family club, Union has always been a place where fans from every possible background are welcome. This pillar is also at the heart of our Union Inspires projects.
Bridge builders
Union Inspires aims to develop a network with various local stakeholders, becoming loyal teammates in addressing societal challenges in Saint-Gilles and Forest.
Inspire
As mentioned in our name, Union Inspires wants to use football as a catalyst to have a positive influence on people that are connected by the club. By leading by example, being present in the local community, and implementing initiatives, we aim to inspire people.
Environmental sustainability
Union Inspires has initiated tree-planting campaigns, organised community clean-up events, and supported renewable energy projects. These efforts are designed to preserve the environment and ensure a healthy life for future generations.
Future-proof
We actively seek out what lives outside the stadium walls. Creating engagement is the keyword. We work in-depth, gathering and using data to evaluate and adapt our operations. We think long-term. What we do now will determine the future of the club tomorrow.
