Christian Burgess leaves Union after 6 successful seasons
Christian Burgess will not be extending his stay at Union. He has decided not to accept the club’s contract offer and brings an end to an incredibly successful chapter with his Union. He made 262 appearances in our yellow and blue shirt, scored 18 goals and provided 9 assists. We would like to thank Christian for his invaluable contribution to Union’s return to the top and the success that followed.

A Brussels derby victory as the perfect way to end the season
In the final match of the season, our Unionists secured a 5–1 victory over Anderlecht. We were already four goals ahead at half-time thanks to strikes from Biondic, Rodriguez and Ait El Hadj. Sykes added a fifth after the break, while Kanaté scored a consolation goal for Anderlecht.

Union held to goalless draw at KAA Gent
Union were held to a 0-0 draw at KAA Gent. Kjell Scherpen saved a first-half penalty before Union created a host of chances. Biondic thought he had broken the deadlock late on, only for VAR to rule out the goal for offside.

Identity checks on tickets for Union - Anderlecht
Sunday brings our last home match of the season against RSC Anderlecht. The Ministry of Home Affairs will carry out identity checks on match tickets. This means that the name on your ticket must match the name on your identity card. Checks will be carried out at every entrance.

Union go down fighting against Club Brugge
Union suffered a 5–0 defeat against Club Brugge. Vanaken opened the scoring with a long-range shot, Seys doubled the lead, and before half-time Vanaken added a third with a header. The Brussels side took control in the second half, but couldn’t find a goal. Tzolis struck on the counterattack to make it 4–0. It briefly looked like Mac Allister had scored a consolation with a stunning goal, but VAR ruled it offside. In added time, Forbs scored Club Brugge’s fifth.
