The ruling confirmed the previously imposed suspension of 1 match day + 1 conditional for our player Christian Burgess, and in addition, the appeals committee followed Union's reasoning that the club was informed too late about the appeal by the Belgian Football Association prosecutor's Office.

Cristian Makaté (21) is playing his second season for our U23s. He has already played a total of 50 matches, scoring 30 goals. Makaté was also selected for Equatorial Guinea's national team for the first time last month.

Union starts its Champions' Play-offs campaign with 0 points out of 6. After an early 0-2 deficit, it eventually became 2-3 for Cercle Brugge.

For the second matchday of the Champions' Play-offs, the Unionists will play Cercle Brugge at the Marien Stadium on Sunday 7 April at 13.30. Kevin Mac Allister and Koki Machida are back in the squad.

Union will play the final of the Belgian Cup for the first time in 110 years and is on a mission to become cup winners for the third time in its history. Our first derby of the play-offs will take place at the Lotto Park. On Sunday 14 April at 18.30, Union will play RSC Anderlecht in matchday 3 of the play-offs. Traveling with a combibus is mandatory for this away game. More info below.

Genk put pressure firmly at the start of the match. Union had to get into the game, but the first chance did go to the visitors. After a rehearsed corner kick, Sadiki had it all to himself, but he missed.
