Our Unionists faced SK Beveren, the proud leaders of the Challenger Pro League, in a friendly match today. The game, played at the training centre in Zaventem, ended in a 2–0 victory thanks to goals from Pavlic and Biondic. The starting XI mainly consisted of players who did not feature in yesterday’s Champions League clash against Atalanta BC.

Many had written Union off, but we still collected 9 points in our very first Champions League campaign. Against Atalanta BC, a single goal from Khalaili was enough to secure our first home victory. In the end, our negative goal difference proved costly and we are eliminated from the next round.

Makate joined the first team this summer from our U23 side. He will spend the second half of the 2025–2026 season on loan at RAAL La Louvière. There, Cristian will be looking for more playing time as he continues his development.
