Another nerve-wracking 0-0 between Union and Ghent
Yep, a draw. And yep, again there was more in it. Union had most of the chances, but failed to score and so it remained 0-0 at the Marien.
Union started the match against Ghent without Ivanovic and Fuseini. Lazare and Boufal got their first start of the season.
Boufal was also the first to create danger. It was the cue for more chances for Union. Rodriguez narrowly decided wide, Castro-Montes did the same. Union would record 11 goal attempts, but only one was on target.
Boufal's magic wand
At the other end, Ghent had a giant chance. Fadiga decided all alone straight in the hands of Moris. 0-0 at half-time.

That break actually slowed the game down. Boufal had the magic wand in his hands in the first period, but he was less successful in the second half.
In the 63rd minute, Rodriguez did something very acrobatic, a bicycle kick on a corner kick, his effort went wide. Sadiki then tried his luck on the counter-attack, Roef was able to hold on to the ball.
The substitute Tobi David Promise then turned and shooted, but Roef saved. Ghent did nothing, the game was over.
Important matches
Another 0-0 in the books, a nerve-wracking one. Union remains in the middle of the table. Now, important games follow on Thursday in Europe (visiting Midtjylland) and Sunday at home again against Cercle Brugge. Allez Saint-Gilles !
