The Cup, the Supercup, and the league title. In just two seasons at Union, Alessio Castro-Montes helped write one of the most memorable chapters in our club’s history. Now, he moves on to Bundesliga newcomers FC Köln for the very first international adventure of his career.

Union were eager to bounce back after last week’s draw against La Louvière. In the Brussels derby, the Unionists struck early through a penalty. Anderlecht threatened several times but couldn’t find the net. After the break, Anderlecht was reduced to nine men within two minutes. Eventually, David sealed the victory with a late strike to make it 2-0.

Union kicks off its Champions League campaign in Eindhoven. The first home match will be on October 1st against Newcastle. Inter will come to Brussels on October 21st, and on November 4th we travel to Madrid to take on Atlético.

Union will host Inter, Atalanta, Olympique Marseille and Newcastle. Away, we will play in Munich against Bayern, in Madrid against Atlético, in Eindhoven against PSV and in Istanbul against Galatasaray.

Our U23 season kicks off on Wednesday, August 27, and new ticketing procedures apply to attend the matches at Royal Léopold Uccle’s stadium (Zwartebeek 23, 1180 Uccle).

Union have to give up their top spot in the league after a 0-0 draw against newly promoted La Louvière. In a mediocre match with few real chances, we came away with just one point.

After 16 years of development at the Union Academy, midfielder Mohamed Asri signs his first professional contract with Union Saint-Gilloise.
