Union returns to winning ways (1-0) against Charleroi

It had to be fought for, it had to be in the absolute final, but Union did it again: win. A penalty goal by Fuseini in minute 93 secured the three points.

Anan Khalaili was not 100% fit for this match against Charleroi, Cameron Puertas was not selected. We did note the first selections of Traoré and Van de Perre as well as the return of Lazare.

Union started the match well. Sadiki's effort was cleared off the line, Castro-Montes narrowly missed a free kick. The same Castro-Montes had to leave the pitch injured afterwards.

Charleroi for its part, could not threaten Moris. At half-time, it was 0-0. In the second half, the game diluted. Union did pound, but got few big chances. Until a strong Sadiki was hooked in the sixteen in extra time.

Fuseini got behind the ball and converted the penalty kick. 1-0, three points and relief in Duden Park.

See you next Sunday (4pm) at Staaien! You can also attend the match against STVV without a combi bus, although the organised bus ride is recommended.
