Union grabs first three-point
Thanks to a fast start and the necessary efficiency, Union won 3-1 over Beerschot. Union thus start the league with 4 out of 6 before visiting Slavia Prague and Westerlo this week.
Minute 3 of our opener at the Marien and the fans could already cheer. Leysen applied good pressure, Fuseine took off with the ball and served Eckert Ayensa: 0-1.
After that opening goal, Beerschot did little, and so did Union in fact. One good chance though, through Ait El Hadj, who celebrated his first starting place, and a cracked shot by Puertas.
It was waiting for a corner kick, which Mac Allister headed in princefully. The Argentine towered high above everyone and it was 2-0 at half-time. Immediately after the break, Beerschot did equalise when Moris could not handle a shot by Keita properly.
The 2-1 remained on the board for a long time, until in the closing stages Castro-Montes found Rodriguez and who rebounded to Sadiki, Noah in one time played Puertas free who could go off alone on goal and decided the match. 3-1 and a business-like win heading to Prague!
Tickets for Saturday's match in Westerlo and the return match against Slavia Prague are available through fan clubs (Westerlo) and on our ticketing website.
