Union bags three points and wins in Kortrijk

On a difficult pitch, Union dominated the match. Rasmussen with a header, Castro-Montes with a shot and Amoura with a customary goal, made the difference. Another counter by Davies made it 1-3.

The first chance soon came for Union. Eckert Ayensa got the ball, Rasmussen played him into the box, ex-Union goalie Pirard made the save. Pirard was the Kortrijk hero again two minutes later when he cleared a ball off the line from Ayensa.

But Dennis did not let himself off the hook. He was then given the necessary freedom in the box to serve Rasmussen at the far post, who cleverly headed in for the 0-1.

Union continued on its momentum. A cross was not dealt with well by the KVK defence and there was Alessio Castro-Montes. Taking the ball on with his right and putting it on his left.. A Robben-esque gem for the 0-2!

The Brussels storm at the Guldensporenstadion then calmed down for a while. Amoura popped over twice more narrowly, Moris watched idly for the time being. The double lead remained on the board at half-time.

After the break, Union opened the debates with a clever dribble by Puertas in the penalty area. Dribbled past his man and swung past a second Kortrijk player to unfortunately pop it over the target. Moments later, Puertas found Amoura in the 18-yard box after some clever team play and he popped in with the outside his left foot

Assist number 13 already for Puertas this season in the Pro League, goal number 17 for our Algerian striker. But the 0-3 was short-lived. Burgess and Sykes lost Davies on a counter, who then made it 1-3.

Afterwards, the necessary substitutions happened along both sides and the game went on lock. Although Sykes still had to intervene to get a ball off the line.
