International Women’s Day 2026 at Union

At Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, women make the difference. On and off the pitch. In the stands. Behind the scenes. And we are proud of that. 1 in 3 employees within our non-sports department is a woman. 1 in 6 fans in the stadium is a woman. March 8 marks International Women’s Day. That’s why this week, and during our home match against KRC Genk, we are putting the women of the Union family in the spotlight.

We are doing so through clear commitments. Starting now, during this weekend’s match and in the future, we will communicate in a more conscious and inclusive way. Our communications team will follow dedicated training to support this.

During the home match on Saturday, March 7, our youngest Union Ladies, together with the players of FC Forestoise, will accompany the players onto the pitch.

Through the SAFER project, we have been working for over a year on creating safe stands. Together with experts, we developed a clear protocol. The Care Team — a group of trained volunteers — looks after the safety of women and, more broadly, of all supporters in the stadium.

“I want the stadium to be a safe place. Fans can always approach us. We are on the front line and want to be visible and accessible in the stands.”

Edith Flament - Care Team

Edith Flament is a member of the Care Team. “I want the stadium to be a safe place,” Edith explains. “Supporters can always approach us. We are on the front line and want to be visible and accessible in the stands.”

Edith is one of the many women who bring Union to life. On the pitch, in the stands and behind the scenes.

See you Saturday.
At Union!
