Union secures three points and European football in Leuven

It is a remarkable achievement. Two matchdays before the end of the regular season, the Unionists are sure of first place to enter the play-offs as well as securing a place in Europe for next season. Union won 0-2 in Leuven thanks to Sykes and Terho.

However, we started particularly poorly. Leuven could have scored in the opening minutes, but failed to do so. Then Burgess headed in, but that goal was disallowed. Union was able to open the mark through Sykes who followed at the far post for the 0-1!

Two goals in three days, remarkable from Ross! Leuven still defended strongly. But in the second half Cassu struck mercilessly. First his goal was disallowed, but then he scored after a nice combination via Teklab, Nilsson and himself. 0-2 at Den Dreef!

The score did not change after that. So a clean sheet and three points and assurance of playing European football next season!
