Union fails to finish off chances against Anderlecht
A scoreless draw at Duden Park in a derby that was always supposed to give us three points. Kevin Rodríguez's missed penalty broke the Unionists down sourly.
Union dominated from the start. Sadiki offered Ait El Hadj the opener, but the Moroccan number 10 decided over the goal.
Ait El Hadj had another almost identical opportunity, but visiting goalkeeper Coosemans did not have to intervene.
The same Coosemans heaved a sigh of relief around minute 20 when Rodríguez decided a penalty kick in his arms. A failed panenka that cast a bit of a shadow on what was to come.
For yes, Union still had chances, but scoring proved difficult. An active Terho still hit the crossbar, but Anderlecht could also have committed another hold-up. Ashimeru luckily placed wide.
