Union beat Lille OSC in final friendly before the Super Cup

Union claimed a 2-1 victory over the northern French side.

Union wrapped up their pre-season campaign with a friendly against Lille OSC. A 2-1 win at Batimont Solar Park in Ostend, where the club will also play its European qualifying matches, gives the Unionists plenty of confidence ahead of next Friday's Super Cup.

The match, played behind closed doors, was contested at a high intensity. Patris struck the post after just two minutes before finding the far corner to open the scoring just over twenty minutes later. Around the half-hour mark, the French side were reduced to ten men following a red card. Despite being a man down, Lille equalised after the break. However, Union secured the victory in the closing stages thanks to a goal from substitute Besfort Zeneli.
