Six out of six after solid win at Sclessin
We start the new season with two wins. One week after the Brussels derby, the Unionists won against Standard thanks to a goal from Eckert Ayensa.
Blessin sent the same eleven onto the pitch as against Anderlecht, last week. The first big chance for Union was thanks to Koki Machida, who tried his luck.
With that shot, Koki tested Bodart's fists for the first time. And Standard's goalkeeper would later have to show his best reflexes.
Bodart's reflexes
After a sharp cross from Puertas and Ayensa's deviation, Bodart was not able to react in time. 0-1 for Union.
The Unionists completely imposed their will from then on. There were chances for Puertas with a distance shot and Burges, in the recovery. Bodart distinguished himself with two fine saves.
When Balikwisha picked up a second yellow card even before half-time, things only got tougher for the home side.
Solid defence
We went into the break with 0-1. Mathias Rasmussen did not come out of the dressing room again, he was ill ahead of the match and could not continue. Lazare Amani was the one that took his place.
We dominated and pressed, but big chances for Lapoussin and Burgess did not go in. At the back, we were solid and kept a clean sheet. Sufficient for the three points and the six out of six!
