Sébastien Pocognoli remains Union’s head coach
The existing contract (until June 2026) between Union and Pocognoli has been confirmed.
Coach of the Champions of Belgium and Pro League Coach of the Year Poco became Union’s head coach last July. In his very first season, he led the team to the title, our first championship in 90 years and the twelfth in our history.
With his staff, he guided Union past the league phase of the Europa League. In the knockout round, we narrowly lost over two legs to Ajax Amsterdam (0-2 at home and 1-2 away).
But the crowning achievement was our twelfth national title and the outstanding Champions’ Play-offs campaign, with 28 out of 30 points under our coach’s leadership. Union and Pocognoli will now take on new challenges together, including the Champions League.
