Royale Union Saint-Gilloise closes its 2022-2023 financial year in profit

RUSG, including the Union Foundation and the Academy, closed the 2022-2023 financial year with a profit (after tax) of €2,964,608. This is an extraordinary result, as three seasons in Division 1A will have been enough for the club to meet and exceed its financial target of a break-even result. This profit can be explained by the club's excellent sporting results, in particular its successful European results in the 2022-2023 season, as well as the completion of outgoing player transfers. In addition, the club continues to pay close attention to the management of its costs and investments.

The club has also continued to contribute financially to its Academy by developing the sporting structure and to its Foundation by supporting local social projects.

The combination of this profit carried forward and the capital increases carried out in recent years has resulted in positive equity of €2,548,657 at 30 June 2023. At 30 June 2022, shareholders' equity was negative at €9,415,951, an improvement of more than €11 million.

Continuing the efforts made in recent years by the staff, management, Board of Directors and shareholders, the club is maintaining its efforts to ensure a sustainable future for the club. The outlook beyond 30 June 2023 is positive, given the new European campaign that is still underway and the transfers that have taken place in the summer of 2023.
