Resounding victory at the Bosuil
Fuseini opened the scoring early in Antwerp. With two goals before the 35th minute, Union quickly took control. Ivanovic (40’) and David (84’) completed the four-leaf clover. 0-4 and 25 out of 27 in these Play-offs for Union!
Poco picked Mo, and Mo delivered. The speedster broke free after five minutes and clinically made it 0-1. Then, in the 35th minute, a precise pass from Khalaili to Ivanovic, the Croatian found the Moroccan-Belgian feet of Ait El Hadj, who played it first-time to Fuseini — and he smashed it in with his left (!) past a helpless Lammens.
0-2. Union kept going. Ivanovic’s shot was blocked, Khalaili picked up the rebound and was fouled in the box by Deman. Penalty, Ivanovic, and it was 0-3!
A short break to catch our breath. Union came out in control. Moris denied Bayo the consolation goal, Tobi came on and scored the 4-0. A powerful header indeed. And then Antwerp’s Toby stepped onto the pitch. The Belgian football legend celebrated his farewell, while Union celebrated a resounding victory.
