Moderate performance in Leuven earns Union one point

Union and Leuven kept each other in check. An owngoal gave Union the lead (0-1), but a penalty goal for Leuven ensured the 1-1 final score.

Leuven started the match better, Burgess was able to foil two chances. But in minute 5 Promise came alone in front of goalkeeper Leysen, Fedde's brother saved well.

Union then took the lead through an owngoal by Schrijvers, after a fine move by Ivanovic.

Penalty kick Leuven

Afterwards, the pace slackened. And then you know: danger on the other side out of nowhere. Penalty kick for Leuven after a foul by Vanhoutte. 1-1 was the score at half-time, although Leysen still kept his team in the game on a deviation from David.

After the break, a goal by David was disallowed, he hindered the Leuven goalkeeper, slightly, when heading in.

In the middle of the standings

A shot by Lapoussin barely threatened that same goalie. That was the only real danger in a poor second half.

In minute 73, Vanhoutte saw the red card, his foot was on Schrijvers' foot. From then on we hardly registered any danger, only a deviation at the first Moris' first post was somewhat threatening. Another draw and another win away from home. Union is currently in the middle of the league table.
