Goalkeeper Heinz Lindner joins Union on a loan deal

Heinz Lindner (33) joins us from Switzerland's FC Sion until the end of the season. Lindner will join our goalkeeper squad for six months. The Austrian goalkeeper previously played for Austria Wien, Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Basel, among others. He counts 36 international matches for the Austrian national team.

Lindner battled with testicular cancer from May to November last year. Last November, he was cured and has made his comeback on the pitch in the meantime.

Lindner is 33 and has experience as a goalkeeper with Austria Wien, Grashoppers Zurich, Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Basel. Since the 2022-2023 season, he was at FC Sion. Now the goalkeeper joins Union. Welcome to the Duden Park, Heinz !
