First European win in Enschede!

Union picked up a deserved win against Twente, thanks to a goal from Fuseini, and climb to place 24 in the League Phase.

Our Unionists started with a lot of firepower. After 5 minutes, Ivanović scored, but his goal was disallowed.

A few minutes later it was still on target, Fuseini worked Niang's assist under the goalkeeper. 0-1!

Union continued to create chances, Boufal was impure, Fuseini shot on goalie Unnerstall.

In fact, there were plenty of opportunities and Twente had difficulties, but a second goal did not succeed.

0-1 was the score at half-time and it really should have been more.

Second half then.

Twente pressed more, but the biggest chance of the opening quarter after the break was for Ivanović. Perfectly played out counter, via Fuseini, Niang and the Croatian, but great work from the Twente goalkeeper.

Moris was threatened by a distance shot from Lammers that went wide. Khalaili threatened on the opposite side, but straight at Unnerstall.

We were in minute 78 when Rasmussen lashed out with his right foot, another save from Unnerstall.

Rodriguez then set up another clever run, but Unnerstall, yes him again, was excellent.

There was a brief shiver in the closing stages, but our first over-earned European victory this season was a reality. See you on Sunday at the Duden Park.
