Union launches new third shirt to celebrate the centenary of the West Stand and the unique Duden Park

One hundred years after the inauguration of the historic West Stand, Union presents its new green third shirt.

The iconic West Stand of the Joseph Marien Stadium is celebrating its centenary this weekend. Now that the renovation by the Brussels-Capital Region and the municipality of Forest has been completed, the listed façade, featuring historic bas-reliefs, has once again regained all its grandeur. To mark this anniversary, as well as the stadium’s unique integration into Duden Park, Union is launching its third shirt today in collaboration with its apparel partner O’Neills.

Alongside the bas-reliefs on the exterior façade, the stained glass in Union’s VIP area is one of the most unique features of the Joseph Marien Stadium. For this reason, we have subtly incorporated the motif of these historic stained-glass windows into the shirt.

The green colour of the shirt refers to the stadium’s proximity to, and integration into, Parc Duden. The trees surrounding the stadium create the unique views and atmosphere inside the stadium. The words ‘Au parc Duden’, embroidered on the sleeve, are another reference to the park so beloved by us Unionists. A love we also express in the chant ‘et quand vient le week-end au Parc Duden je chante pour ton club, allez l’Union !’, which is printed inside the collar of the shirt.

The green shirt will be available from Thursday 27 August at 10:00 am in our online shop and in the stadium fan shop, priced at €70.
