Union immediately claim first win in Europa League League Phase

Union recorded a convincing 0-3 victory over Czech side Viktoria Plzeň. The result immediately puts us among the leading teams in the Europa League League Phase.

With a starting eleven that had been forced into four changes, Union made a strong start to their Europa League campaign. A powerful header from Patris was brilliantly saved by the goalkeeper, but after 17 minutes, Union took the lead when Mofokeng found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Just before half-time, Biondic doubled the lead when he too was allowed to go one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

After the break, Union once again dominated the game. The final 0-3 scoreline was therefore more than deserved. And it was none other than Kricfalusi who headed home his first goal for Union in his home country following a corner. Union then saw out the game professionally, with debutants Aquino and Chibani among those coming off the bench.
