Sofiane Boufal signs contract at Union
The Moroccan international and World Cup contender Sofiane Boufal (30) comes to Brussels transfer free and signs a contract until 2026. Last season, he played for Al-Rayyan SC in Qatar. Sofiane has experience in Ligue 1 (Lille and Angers), Premier League (Southampton) and La Liga (Celta de Vigo).
Boufal made his international debut for Morocco in 2016. He played seven games at the 2022 World Cup during the Moroccan national team's fine run in Qatar, when they reached the semi-finals.
He also defended his country's colours at the Africa Cup in 2019, 2022 and 2024.
