‘Qui ne sauve pas n’est pas Saint-Gillois’: Union launches special jersey to save lives
In collaboration with the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), Union Saint-Gilloise is launching the ‘Qui ne sauve pas n’est pas Saint-Gillois’ campaign.
At the heart of the campaign is a limited-edition warm-up shirt. To be able to purchase the shirt, supporters will have to learn life-saving skills.
A cardiac arrest can happen at any time, including in a football stadium. In such a situation, every second counts: a quick and appropriate response can save a life. That is why Union, in collaboration with the ERC, wants to raise awareness among its supporters about the importance of knowing how to respond to a cardiac emergency and offer them training to learn the right actions.
Only those who have taken part in a free life-saving skills training session organised in collaboration with the ERC will be able to purchase and wear the special campaign shirt. The shirt will also make it possible to quickly identify, in the stands, those who have received training and are able to respond effectively in the event of a cardiac arrest.
Union’s players have also received training in life-saving skills. They will wear this special shirt during the warm-up ahead of the match against Cercle Brugge on 25 October. In doing so, they aim to lead by example and encourage supporters to receive training themselves.
The shirt is midnight blue, featuring blue lines that evoke hearts. Every detail carries a message:
- On the sleeve: the European Resuscitation Council logo.
- On the back: the campaign slogan, ‘Qui ne sauve pas n’est pas Saint-Gillois’.
- At the bottom of the shirt: the three key steps of resuscitation: ‘Check. Call. Compress.’
The shirt will officially be launched on 25 October 2026, before the home game against Cercle Brugge and during European Cardiac Arrest Awareness Week. As part of the campaign launch, 180 supporters will have the opportunity to take part in a free life-saving skills training session at the stadium. After completing the training, they will be able to purchase the special campaign shirt.
How can you register?
Registration for the free life-saving skills training session and thus the possibility to buy the exclusive jersey, will be available online via the club’s official shop from 23 October.
