No Black Friday at Union
This year, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise is strengthening its commitment to more responsible consumption. In line with our sustainable approach, we have decided not to take part in Black Friday in order to limit overconsumption and stay true to our values. Instead, we will support Les Petits Riens by donating a share of the merchandising sales from the week of the 24th of November. Fans will be also able to give a second life to their clothes before the game against Cercle Brugge (22/11) and during the week of the 24th of November.
A conscious choice for sustainability
For several seasons now, Union has been committed to reducing overconsumption and lowering its ecological footprint through the Union Inspires projects. Since 2023, for example, we have chosen to use one of our three shirts for two consecutive seasons every year.
To stay true to this approach, we have decided to discontinue the Black Friday campaign starting this year. We believe that Black Friday, unlike the winter or summer sales, does not offer real added value to our festive traditions or habits, and therefore encourages unnecessary overconsumption.
Collaboration with Les Petits Riens
Our webshop and fanshop will not offer any promotions during the week of 24 November. Instead, we will donate 10 percent of that week’s merchandising revenue to Les Petits Riens.
We also encourage our fans to give their clothes a second life by donating them to Les Petits Riens. From Monday the 24th to Friday the 28th of November, a collection point will be available in our Club House. For the home game against Cercle Brugge (22nd of November), additional collection points will be set up on the Chaussée de Bruxelles.
Union cares. Union Inspires.
