New away shirt highlights roots in Saint-Gilles and Forest
Union Saint-Gilloise is proud to present its latest white away shirt. The shirt was designed by fan Marc Janssens, whose design emerged as the winner of our fan design competition held at the end of last year. The jersey features a map of the neighbourhood surrounding the Marien Stadium, showing both Saint-Gilles and Forest. The map and this view date back to the 1950s.
“Ici, ici c’est Saint-Gilles!” is a chant our fans sing after every goal. Whether we play in Kapellen, Huy, Charleroi, Leverkusen or Amsterdam, the slogan underlines that wherever we go, we carry our club pride with us.
The map of Union’s neighbourhood and the Duden Park in Forest adorn the front of the shirt, along with several references to the municipality of Saint-Gilles. Wherever we go, we take our home with us – in our chants and in this shirt.
The “Ici, ici c’est Saint-Gilles” shirt is finished with grey-blue accents, with both the club crest and the Nike Swoosh in the same shade. Union will wear the shirt for the first time away to Dender on 13 September. It is now available for purchase at shop.rusg.brussels and from Thursday 14/08 in our Club House fanshop (please note: the fanshop will be closed on 15/08).
Marc Janssens, the designer of the winning entry, will receive a framed and signed copy.
