Charles Vanhoutte leaves Union to join OGC Nice
Belgian Cup, Supercup, and league title; a remarkable treble. Now, it's time for Charles Vanhoutte to turn a golden page in his career. Union Saint-Gilloise warmly thanks Charles for two unforgettable seasons in yellow and blue, filled with emotion and success.
Charles Vanhoutte leaves Parc Duden to settle in France, more precisely on the Côte d’Azur, where he will now wear the red and black colors of OGC Nice. Having arrived in the summer of 2023 from Cercle Brugge, the number 24 played 106 matches in the yellow and blue jersey.
He made his official debut in August 2023 during the derby against Anderlecht, starting the match. Union won 2-0, kicking off the season in style. Among the highlights of his time at the club was the Belgian Cup final on May 9, 2024, against Antwerp, where Charles, once again in the starting lineup, contributed to a historic victory.
The following season, on Sunday, May 25, 2025, he played a key role in Union’s league title win, ending a 90-year wait for the club. This beautiful journey also included a memorable Europa League campaign.
And to top it all off, Charles received his first call-up to the Belgian national team in August 2025 , a well-deserved reward for his commitment and consistency.
Thank you, Charles, for everything you’ve done. We wish you all the best in the next chapter of your career.
Unionist un jour, Unionist toujours!
