Sébastien Pocognoli becomes Union's new head coach

Pocognoli (36) returns to Union, where he ended his professional career as a player and started as a coach three years ago. He will take charge of the group on training in the Netherlands from Monday.

Pocognoli broke through as a footballer with Racing Genk. Afterwards, he made his career via AZ, Standard, Hannover, West Brom and Brighton. The former Red Devil concluded his playing career at Union, after another spell at Standard. Poco won the title in 1B with our club and became the U21 coach the following season.

In the 2022-23 season, he was coach of Racing Genk's U18s and coached in the UEFA Youth League. Pocognoli now comes over from the national team's U18s and becomes head coach at Union for the first time, signing a two-year contract.

Welcome back, Poco!
