Union sign defender Massiré Sylla, best young player in Norway’s second division
Union have signed 21-year-old Senegalese centre-back Massiré Sylla on a contract running until June 2030. During his time at his former club Lyn 1896 FK, Sylla was voted Best Young Player of the OBOS-ligaen, Norway’s second tier.
With Lyn (Oslo), he made a total of 33 appearances (1 goal, 3 assists). A standout moment was a run of 16 consecutive unbeaten matches midway through last season, in which Sylla played a key role as a defensive leader.
Before that, he spent a short spell in France with Pau FC, playing for the reserve team. Massiré was developed at the Senegalese academy Diambars, based in the coastal city of Saly.
Welcome to the champions of Belgium, welcome to Union, Massiré!
I love duels and defending in one-on-one situations. I want to show these qualities here in Belgium and I can’t wait to get to work!
