Union SG will play their Europa League group stage home fixtures in Leuven
As the draw for the group stage of the Europe League approaches (this Friday 26/08), Union SG has reached an agreement with OH Leuven for the rental of the King Power Den Dreef stadium in Leuven. The three home games of the group stage will therefore take place in Leuven.
“We received a lot of positive reactions from our fans after the thrilling evening and the victory against Rangers FC in Leuven,” said our CEO Philippe Bormans. “We are therefore happy with this agreement with OH Leuven for the rental of their stadium. I would like to thank OHL for their willingness to cooperate in order to find a solution. »
OH Leuven CEO Peter Willems adds: “We are happy to support Union SG so that they can play their UEFA Europa League group stage matches in the King Power Den Dreef stadium. . After a successful evening against Rangers, there are now three more meetings to come. We will actively engage with our neighbors and take proactive steps to minimize inconvenience. We will also use part of the income for our community work which will give back to our neighborhood. We are going to make it a football party together. »
CEO Bormans: “Of course, it’s a shame that we can’t play in our own stadium. It also proves that the need for a new stadium is important, also for our Jupiler Pro League matches. We hope that our supporters will be able to come to Leuven for the European evenings and that we will be able to create the family atmosphere we have at Union. »
The draw for the UEFA Europa League group stage will take place this Friday, August 26th.

First fixture: September 8th, 2022
Second fixture: September 15th, 2022
Third fixture: October 6th, 2022
Fourth fixture: October 13th, 2022
Fifth fixture: October 27th, 2022
Sixth fixture: November 3rd, 2022
