International break : March 2022

7 of our Unionists were called up to their national teams during the international break and they shone with goals, assists, and first starts…Here is our yellow and blue world tour!

Opening this interlude, Kaoru Mitoma carried out a performance worthy of the greatest. Drawing against Australia 0-0 in the 2022 World Cup qualifier, Kaoru came on in the 84th minute and then took 5 minutes to score 0-1, and sealed the win 0-2 in the additional time, propelling Japan to Qatar and offering a moment of happiness to the entire Japanese nation. In the last match, against Vietnam, Kaoru also celebrated his first start with the Blue Samurai.

Meanwhile, Anthony Moris played two friendly matches with Luxembourg. Firstly, facing Northern Ireland (1-3), then Bosnia-Herzegovina (1-0), our goalkeeper played the entire 90 minutes.

Kacper Kozlowski was selected for the Polish U21s and appeared in turn with 1 assist in the 2-2 draw in Israel and then played 80 minutes in the second game in Hungary (1-1).

Our captain Teddy Teuma was also in fine form during this break and was marching Malta forwards. Against Azerbaijan, Teddy delivered an assist, and last Tuesday against Kuwait, he even scored his first goal for the Falcons 2-0.

Siebe Van der Heyden also started against Burkina Faso for 90 minutes! After his first selection a few days ago and substitute status against Ireland, he celebrated his first start with the A!

Finally, Dante Vanzeir and Casper Nielsen trained with Belgium and Denmark but were substitutes against Burkina Faso and against Serbia.

Loïc Lapoussin remained in Brussels following the cancellation of the Madagascar fixture.
