Feyenoord – Union SG : 0-4

For our last outing this pre-season, Union gave us a victory at Feyenoord.

In this match, which was played in 4×30 minutes, the two teams scoped each other out during the first half hour with several chances on both sides. It was only in the second part of this match that Union capitalized. Eckert Ayensa’s ball to Nieuwkoop allowed him to score against his old colors (0-1). Moris saved us a few moments later by a strike from Dilrosun, but the second goal fell to us again converted by Eckert Ayensa.

Union continued their momentum and obtained a penalty around the 70th minute. Teddy Teuma was in charge of taking it but he couldn’t put it away. Shortly after the start of the fourth 30-minute period, Ross Sykes gave no chance to the keeper and scored our third goal of the afternoon. During the final moments of the game, on a well-rounded counter, Ilyes Ziani scored the fourth goal!

Pre-season is now finished! Union will now prepare for the first day of the season! Our Unionists will travel next Saturday at 8:45 p.m. to Saint-Trond.

Tickets for this match will go on sale this week from our supporters’ clubs.

Bart Nieuwkoop, scored for his return to Rotterdam.

“I’m very happy to be back and to score more, it’s nice to come back, to see the people I’ve known for years. It was a great action as well, and we scored three more goals afterwards. We played well for 70-80 minutes, with a lot of pressing as we do all the time.

The pre-season was good, against big names like Brighton, Lisbon, and Feyenoord. We will start the championship next Saturday, everything is going very quickly but I think we are ready! »

Karel Geraerts, an undefeated coach: “The most important thing was to play well, with our organization and to give everyone playing time today, the score also obviously, but for me, it’s always important to win … in training, in the league and certainly in official matches. During the last few days, we have traveled a lot, in circumstances that are not always obvious. What is certain, everyone has prepared well and I am counting on everyone to start the championship next Saturday!”
