The game between Brighton and Union started with heavy pressure from the home side. Our Unionists struggled for the first quarter of an hour, but we gradually regained our composure.
There were not many chances to begin with. However, Vanzier almost took advantage while the home goalkeeper was off his line but it was narrowly blocked.
Brighton threatened Union from a free-kick position by Enciso, but Moris stopped his attempt. At the other end of the pitch, a header from Simon Adingra just missed its target. In all, a balanced first half for both sides, with the best chances for Union.
After the break, the pace slowed down. Brighton hit the post from a corner kick and Ayensa was unable to score for Union. The score remained at 0-0 and after a penalty shoot-out, Brighton won the match 5-4.
The whole team will return to Brussels this Sunday to prepare for their next friendly. It will be played this Wednesday in the Algarve against Sporting Lisbon! Unionists wishing to make the trip can still reserve their tickets until Monday 6:00 p.m.

It’s a great trip, everything that belongs to football is there. This complex breathes football. We received an excellent welcome. I was also able to exchange ideas with Coach Potter. And I’m happy with our game. We didn’t give them many opportunities and we created a few chances. The organization is good, now we will continue on this path.KAREL GERAERTS
